It is my pleasure to welcome the residents, businesses and visitors. This site is offered as a service to the community by the Borough of Lindenwold to provide the residents and visitors with important community information, as well as ongoing activities and events.

P/T CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER TRAINEE
Under supervision, performs productive work while receiving formal and/or on-the-job training in seeing that residents, business establishments, and citizens comply with various ordinances and State Code. Must possess a valid driver's license valid in New Jersey.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: Reviews laws (ordinances) establishing minimum standards to interpret the code standards and to understand their application. Compares conditions, structures, hazards, and so forth to code standards, contracts, and so forth to determine conformance. Conducts inspections for the purpose of ensuring compliance with a variety of local codes and ordinances. Walks or rides in a vehicle to examine conditions(s) which violate a local ordinance. Records the nature of complaints, names, and personal observations to document the need for corrective action. Issues notices of violation to inform individuals of their failure to comply with code standards. Prepares written reports of inspections and other work reports to keep supervisors informed on status of work. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Ability to read and understand laws, standards, ordinances, codes and regulations pertaining to the position and apply same. Ability to learn and apply Uniform Construction Code as it applies to the position. Ability to interview persons of varying background. Ability to use tact and courtesy in explaining the need for compliance. Ability to observe and reconcile significant conditions in practices pertaining to property maintenance, multiple dwelling occupancy, or zoning district practices, and so forth. Ability to compile inspection reports and work status reports. Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

Lindenwold Library is seeking applications for a part-time Clerk. Library experience is preferred. Applicant will perform a variety of routine clerical tasks which involve data entry, handling of money, answering phones, and other duties as required. Must have excellent oral communication skills, people skills, organizational skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Internet with ability to troubleshoot basic computer problems, and capable of lifting/bending in order to maintain organization of library bookshelves. Some Saturdays and evenings required. Bilingual a plus, but not required.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Responsible for all duties and supervision of the Municipal Department in addition to enforcement of municipal code and inspections for compliance.
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in conducting inspections or investigations to detect violations of and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations preferred. Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a valid New Jersey driver's license. Other NJ licenses for housing preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the provisions of the municipal rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and ordinances.
Knowledge of the problems involved in organizing work and developing effective work methods both in the field and in the office. Knowledge of inspection techniques and the writing of reports that substantiate findings and serve as a basis for legal proceedings. Ability to analyze, comprehend, and interpret municipal rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and ordinances, and apply them to specific cases. Ability to take and maintain a firm, correct stand when controversial matters are considered.
Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to properly supervise and evaluate employees and complete Performance Evaluations. Ability to use Excel preferred.
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree preferred.

ASSISTANT MUNICIPAL CLERK/DEPUTY REGISTRAR – Successful candidate must have at least a minimum of two years’ experience in a Municipal Clerk’s Office. Registered Municipal Clerk Certification and Municipal Registrar Certification are preferred but will consider candidates who have the ability to obtain these certifications within the required timeframes. The ideal candidate possesses excellent verbal, written, organizational, and computer/technology skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, website management, and licensing software. Duties within the Borough Clerk’s Office to include assisting with the preparation of agenda, attending meetings and recording minutes of the Borough Council, records management and OPRA compliance, maintaining and recording of all documents, assisting with elections, and assisting with the issuing of a variety of licenses and permits. Registrar’s Duties include knowledge of EDRS and VIP systems as well as all statutory duties of local registrar. Must be able to perform all statutory duties of both a Municipal Clerk and Registrar. New Jersey American Water will begin routine flushing of the fire hydrants starting Monday, May 30 thru June 4 from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. You may notice reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, wait until it runs clear before using. This should only take a few minutes. More information is available at NewJerseyamericanwater.com.
