MAYOR’S MESSAGE Dear Neighbor and Friend, Fall is around the corner and hopefully the heat, drought and high electric bills are behind us. There are many great and exciting things happening in our town that we all can be proud of. Please come out and participate and join in the planning. UPDATES United States Avenue Bridge The new bridge will be constructed on the east side of the existing bridge. The new bridge will include two traffic lanes, two shoulders and a sidewalk. The bridge will be similar in size as the Kirkwood Bridge. The final scope development phase is being completed at this time. The next phase will be "right of way" acquisition and final design. We have met with NJDOT Commissioner James Fox and he is committed to accelerating this project as fast as possible. Please stop at Borough Hall for more information and view the drawings of the new bridge. Welcome Mrs. Geraldine Carroll of Cherry Hill has been named Superintendent of Schools effective October 28, 2002. Mrs. Carroll presently serves as Superintendent of Schools in Clayton, NJ. Mr. Knapp comes to us from the Department of Education and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Rider College. Mr. Knapp will begin his duties on September 5, 2002.
